Local Business Owned by Veteran with Service-Connected Disability Preference

This designation refers to companies owned by individuals that meet the criteria as determined by the Nevada Revised Statues (NRS) and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

For the purpose of awarding a formal contract solicited by way of an Invitation to Bid (ITB), if a local business owned by a veteran with a service-connected disability submits a bid or proposal and is a responsive and responsible bidder, the bid or proposal shall be deemed to be 5 percent lower than the bid or proposal actually submitted.

Local Emerging Small Business

This designation refers to companies that have been certified by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development as a Local Emerging Small Business (ESB). The ESB designation does not provide for a preference in awarding contracts, however, it does align with goals established by the State of Nevada in supporting qualified companies in doing business with the State.
